Matt and Jon News
You Are Here!
Posted 04-04-08 09:17:12am by PNW Raven

Welcome to the official fan web site for Matt Johnston and Jon Douglas Rainey, the hosts of the Discovery Channel’s It Takes A Thief. Although first-time visitors may wonder if they have wandered into a “Den of Thieves,” it is actually a den of thief fans, drawn here to discuss the show and learn the latest about Matt and Jon. And “Thief” fans are a varied lot—from teens to baby boomers—who usually have something interesting to share and have at least one thing in common: they love It Takes A Thief and its two hosts.

You will discover that a great bunch of people hang out here, and while browsing the forums, it becomes apparent that this is far more than a fan web site—it is a community. Therefore, we serve and reflect that community, as well as provide news about the show, Matt and Jon, and their careers and activities beyond ITAT. The forums have many ITAT and general topic threads, and there is a (moderated) chat room where you'll meet other Thief fans. The Home Page will also be continually updated with the latest ITAT news and other web site announcements. And while all visitors are welcome to explore our site, you must be registered to post on the forums or use the chat rooms. We encourage members to share their opinions and ideas, but please be respectful, tolerant, and courteous to others and always remember that this is a family-friendly web site.

As members post on the forums, they earn points to gain entry into the VIP Lounge where Matt and Jon share information about themselves and provide some ITAT behind-the-scenes tidbits. If you’re lucky, a “thief” might unexpectedly drop into the chat room while you are there.

Members also receive an e-newsletter with the latest M&J news and announcements. Anyone not wishing to receive the newsletter can turn this option off on their user control panel. Admins Shy4chey and Emily are the newsletter editors. The newsletter is also available online in the "Matt and Jon News" forum.

If you need assistance, information, or have questions about any of the above, our friendly staff is always happy to help.

Enjoy!

Matt & Jon Updates
Posted 08-15-08 08:19:19pm by PNW Raven

Matt was recently living in Los Angeles, but he is now back in Austin, Texas. He's currently shooting, "Roundball," a feature-length documentary about a guy who want's to play professional basketball despite several obvious obstacles. According to Matt, the story is shaping up nicely. Matt will also be on stage performing stand-up comedy in October.

Matt has been in pre-production for a new movie titled, "Pain," and he recently applied for a Texas Filmmakers Fund grant for a new documentary he is developing about the blues music scene in East Austin.

There's no word yet on when Matt's movie, "Cowboy Smoke," will be in general release. There is a trailer on YouTube and you can check www.cowboysmoke.com for more information.

Jon's new movie, "Shoot Out of Luck" starring Willie Nelson is currently in post-production. This is a comic action western. I will post the release date as soon as it's known.

Stay tuned for the latest Matt and Jon updates.

Project Mayhem!

That's right, it's another Matt Johnston Project Mayhem. In what can best be described as something akin to an online scavenger hunt, M&J members compete to perform various Matt-created tasks that are electronically submitted for judging.

This year's event had a different format. Members had only one day to complete their assigned task. Matt is now judging the entries. The winner's name will be posted here. For details, go to: The Show/Episode Discusion/P.M. You can also link from here: www.mattandjon.com
